My sister recently told me how to make mini-albums out of "smashed" TP rolls. At first I thought it sounded crazy, but then I looked on youtube and found several others. I was immediately hooked! Our son's fiance has a little brother with Down's Syndrome. Since we live several states away, I made a mini-album for E as a Christmas gift. The front cover says New Family. The next tube/page has a photo on it of my husband and the tab that pulls out of it has his name on it. The back side says that this is "A's dad." The following tubes/pages have a different member of our family pictured, named, and described. The game is for E to look at the pictures and be able to learn our faces and names so that when we see them again for the wedding, he will be more likely to recognize his "new family." Tonight I talked to E's mom...my son's future mom-in-love...and she totally loved it! Now I can't wait to get started on another one! Thanks, TJ.
I Found A New Scrapping Store!
Author: ~Missi /The Scrap Tree is a brand new scrapbooking and stamping store in Laramie! Manuela "Mannie" and her husband have remodeled the store and it's fabulous! You can look at shelves and shelves of beautiful paper or rows and rows of embellishments. There are very classy scrapbooks and plenty of layouts on display to get your imagination going. I can't wait to go back and spend some time upstairs in the workshop. Stop in on your next trip to Laramie and let Mannie know that you heard about her from Heart Mtn Graphics....it's gonna be my favorite spot in Laramie!
YOU ARE INVITED!!! Saturday December 4 I will be having a workshop for making Christmas cards and other gift ideas! We will meet at the library of North Park Baptist Church (we live upstairs but there's more room down there!). The doors will open at 2:00 p.m. I will have several tables set up with a different craft at each one. All of the supplies will be ready in a kit and you can choose as many as you want to do as long as there are still kits available. Another set of tables will be set up with supplies, examples, instructions, and instructors for making Christmas cards. The day will be "Make & Take" so you can purchase the kit, make it right there and take home a completed project! Feel free to come and go as needed until around 5:00 p.m. There will be light refreshments and holiday cheer to go around!
fabulous fall festival!
Author: ~Missi /The Fall Harvest Craft Festival in Walden was a great day! HMG sold a few things and got a few orders. I was going to tell about "the best part of the day" but there were several bests! First best was that this was my daughter's first craft show for her homemade candle business. We spent the whole day together in our side by side booths helping each other and people watching. Second best was cinnamin rolls. Third best was when a gentleman bought the Snowflake Explosion Box and said, "You really should be charging about double for this stuff." What a compliment! Fourth best was how proud I was of the "green projects" I had there. I recycled the fronts of some dresser drawers and made gorgeous holiday signs. I used a few orphaned envelopes I had left in a box and made a cute mini scrapbook. And fifth best was the great feedback to my new business.....people were glad to hear I'm here.
